We proudly announce that Elum is the winner of three How International Design Awards including an Outstanding Achievement Award in Invitation Design for Elum’s own art director, Amy Kreft Green’s stunning letterpress wedding invitation suite. For her October 2012 wedding to Frank Green, Amy designed her wedding stationery as a series of vintage inspired books. The Save the Date (which is Volume 1 in the book series) is a custom designed & illustrated letterpress mini-book which tucks safely into a tiny letterpress pocket with a die-cut window showcasing the cover that reads “And so our story begins.” The Invitation (Volume 2) is a larger more complex book incorporating layers of original textile patterns and hand-drawn florals (paying homage to the romantic lavender farm where the wedding took place) all deeply letterpressed into luxurious soft cotton paper. The Ceremony Program (Volume 3) and Menu (Volume 4) were also tailor-made and completed the unique book series. We fell in love with the little details Amy incorporated such as the “library card” inspired Reply shown below and bookmarks mimicking antique book spines that detailed the wedding weekend events for their guests.

Elum also received Merit Awards for our Sweet Shoppe letterpress wedding invitation suite, inspired by vintage candy packaging and old-fashioned ice cream parlors; and our Billboard letterpress wedding invitation suite which pairs clever wording and type pairings with fun vibrant colors in a playfully over-sized dimension (well pretty darn big actually) that we lovingly call “Jumbo.” We feel like proud parents over here and are so honored to receive this recognition.

Letterpress wedding invitation: The Alchemy invitation suite from our brand new Elum Couture Volume 3 album embodies elegance with an uncluttered sophisticated aesthetic. The neutral textural background, reminiscent of patterns from the Deco era, is quiet in nature and creates a unique juxtaposition when paired with the surprise pops of color used throughout. We are excited to share that our Cabana invitation suite from our affordable Umi letterpress invitation collection was featured today on The Knot Live! The invitations shown were printed on thick 100% cotton paper stock in Pink Champagne and Midnight Blue inks. The Cabana invitation ensemble is a playful modern design showcasing several coordinating (but not matchy matchy) patterns such as Greek key and chevron. Inspired by our trendsetting invitations, The Knot Live created a gorgeous chevron themed wedding cake, perfect for a modern event. Check out the segment below!
