entry #11: our ARCHIVA invitation inspiration

Monday, April 23rd, 2012

The ‘Archiva‘ wedding invitation suite from our Elum Couture Vol. 2 album celebrates lasting love with a save the date timeline and a style influenced by artifacts from a bygone era. Clean and simple typography mixed with vintage postage stamp artwork give a nod to years gone by. This classic design is ideal for the couple hosting a modern event infused with the unique character of antique touches and personal homemade accents. Letterpress printed in 3 soothing ink colors on double thick Tree Free Bamboo Ivory paper, this invitation is all about the little details, such as the delicate texture of the translucent Onion Skin enclosure that houses the invitation and emphasizes the momentous affair. Take a look below at the inspiration behind this timeless design, and check back again for more mood boards coming soon from our custom wedding invitation albums!

entry #3: our CABANA invitation inspiration

Friday, January 20th, 2012

We are thrilled to introduce the ‘Cabana‘ letterpress wedding invitation suite from our brand new Umi 2 album. In these winter months, this little burst of sunshine has us reminiscing of warm summer breezes, lounging by the pool, and sipping on ice-cold lemonade…. ahhh.
We chose this happy color palette of bright yellow ‘Lemonade’ and neutral ‘Warm Gray’, however, depending on the style of your event, this fresh design would look great in just about any color combination. Take a look below at what inspired this design and stay tuned for more mood boards from our new Umi 2 album!

entry #2: our WOODGRAIN invitation inspiration

Friday, January 13th, 2012

What is it about woodgrain? It’s organic, it’s tactile, it’s beautiful, it’s masculine, it’s feminine and it’s downright alluring. (And let’s face it, it’s just about everywhere you turn these days). Our new ‘Woodgrain‘ letterpress wedding invitation suite is one of our favorites from the new
Umi 2 album. We approached this otherwise rustic concept from a modern minimalist perspective, using subtle and organic woodgrain patterns that harmonize with clean crisp typography, creating an emphasis on openness that is undeniably seductive. We chose a cool neutral color palette of pale gray ‘Shadow’ and deep rich ‘Fudge’, but this fabulous design could be punched-up for Spring or Summer with the switch of an ink. We can picture it now with type in a fresh citrus green or a bold bright hot pink .

entry #1: our LOVE NOTE invitation inspiration

Friday, January 6th, 2012

We are totally smitten with our new Umi 2 album invitation called ‘Love Note.’ As soon as we got the idea to use standard loose leaf notebook paper for an invitation concept, we were overcome with excitement about all the different ways we could infuse the idea of passing notes in class and young sweethearts writing love notes. This ridiculously cute and clever invitation package is so perfect for the couple looking to infuse some personality into their wedding celebration. We say go for it, be creative and have FUN with it.  Your guests will be catapulted back to their youth right along with you. Stay tuned for more mood boards from our brand spankin’ new Umi 2 album!

Letterpress business cards – Style Me Pretty

Tuesday, July 28th, 2009

How sweet are these letterpress business cards??  If  you’re familiar with Style Me Pretty you will know that Abby recently changed up her website and logo not too long ago.  And we all know that when you decide to change your logo there are few must haves and business cards are one of them.

smp-1

Abby has been so kind to us by featuring Elum invitations on Style Me Pretty we just had to print these for her as a way of saying thanks for all of her support over the past few years.  We printed them on 110lb Lettra and as you can see the impression is to die for – this is a perfect example as to why we love letterpress printing.  The type is sunken super deep into the soft cotton paper and the ink is so perfectly set at the bottom of the impression – printed perfection!

smp-2

Abby, SMP is an amazing site that is full of valuable wedding resources, tips and ideas for brides everywhere.  Your blogging and writing style is to die for.  Keep up the great work.

ELUM LOVES SMP!!!!
