Clean and simple typography mixed with vintage postage stamp artwork give a nod to years gone by. This classic design is ideal for the couple hosting a modern event infused with the unique character of antique touches and personal homemade accents. Letterpress printed in 3 soothing ink colors on double thick Tree Free Bamboo Ivory paper, this invitation is all about the little details, such as the delicate texture of the translucent Onion Skin enclosure that houses the invitation and emphasizes the momentous affair. We were inspired by sun-washed French ticking textiles and the traditional Nantucket basket weave that pay homage to coastal New England living. We chose to letterpress print this design in a timeless combination of ‘Navy Blue’ and ‘Stone’ gray inks on crisp, white 100% cotton rag paper. The nautical sea life icons create a classic beachy feel, while the simplistic organic nature of the artwork gives this invitation a modern touch. It’s organic, it’s tactile, it’s beautiful, it’s masculine, it’s feminine and it’s downright alluring. (And let’s face it, it’s just about everywhere you turn these days). Our new ‘Woodgrain‘ letterpress wedding invitation suite is one of our favorites from the new
Umi 2 album. We approached this otherwise rustic concept from a modern minimalist perspective, using subtle and organic woodgrain patterns that harmonize with clean crisp typography, creating an emphasis on openness that is undeniably seductive. We chose a cool neutral color palette of pale gray ‘Shadow’ and deep rich ‘Fudge’, but this fabulous design could be punched-up for Spring or Summer with the switch of an ink. We can picture it now with type in a fresh citrus green or a bold bright hot pink .

From what my distributor tells me, the bamboo paper isn’t actually 100% bamboo fiber, it has about 10% cotton rag mixed into it to soften it up a bit.
